It's been a year since I began this new profession: that of leading and thinking for a group of happy 50+ people on a brand new social network that's adapted and secure for these people who are starting the second half of their lives. What an adventure!

I'm surrounded by Claude, the creator and Vincent, the builder, as well as Eugenie, the network's ingenious programmer.

First of all, I've had the help and support of my father Jacques Mercier, who has agreed to be an ambassador for this project. Secondly, teaming up with two wonderful men and, through our three visions, developing a dynamic that works really well.

But you know, it's fantastic to see the number of elderly people on the social network increase every day, and to be able to witness them making new connections! We've had some very special people since the beginning. They've become part of our lives. Nothing was really up for grabs between these people, from different backgrounds and worlds. And then the chemistry was born. Exchanges, humour and kindness, day after day. With us, there's no need for a moderator: the community welcomes and monitors newcomers as they arrive. And there's no question of being duped or changing the nature of the project. If it's a grazer or a scam, either Vincent keeps an eye on it or the community warns us and gently explains to the person that they're not in the right place. "This is not a dating site for older people, but a site for friendship and sharing", these are the words that are often repeated.

We also work with professionals to provide interesting and legitimate content, which often gives me the opportunity to communicate and discover new areas, to meet new people, to go on TV and radio and even to Cannes for the Silver Economy Festival! My job is also to find new experts to invite them to join us and share their content for the world of seniors.

There are a lot of us saying hello to each other every day now, and the majority of us are retired and working. They share their passions and I discover new things every day, which inspires me. I love writing and I'm delighted to be able to do these blogs.

My pleasure in this work is also to find new leads, ideas, events, competitions, proposals, collaborations... and to share them with them. In fact, we're preparing a wonderful surprise for January.

I like Senior.Life to be a place of fun and entertainment, of ideas and exchange. That was the goal we set ourselves a year ago, and we've achieved it! We're not at the end of our joys, even if the social network for seniors is developing magnificently in French-speaking countries, it is now translated into 6 languages... and I only express myself in French!
